Does this sound familiar…?
You know your strategy works — but your mind gets in the way.
You hesitate after a loss
You revenge trade to “get it back”
You close winners too early
You hold losers too long
You break rules you swore you’d follow
One bad trade ruins your focus for the day
You feel confident one week, paralysed the next
Trading can be a very isolated profession. One of the greatest risks isn’t the market—it’s gradually becoming blind to the habits and thought patterns that are limiting your performance. I call this Isolation Blindness.
This isn’t a technical problem – It’s a trading psychology problem.
And it’s far more common than most traders admit.
Client feedback
“Before i received bwrt sessions for my trading mindset i was at the mercy of such strong emotions and impulses when trading, and they just seemed to be impossibble for me to control no matter what i tried. I was breaking my entry rules, chasing losses and emotionally invested in the outcome of every trade and it had turned a very profitable strategy into one that wasn’t at all.
After having two sessions of bwrt on these issues i can say that the difference in how i feel, think and act is night and day. I feel like a whole different person when i trade now, i have effortless patience and discipline with zero emotions……I feel like the trading version of a buddhist monk!”
Why I Understand This
In 1999 I read a newspaper article about making money in the stock market and thought, “that looks easy, I can do that.” Over the next 18 months, immersed in the markets with no clear goals and no control over my emotions, I lost over £30,000 in today’s money.
Looking back, the pattern was obvious: fear of missing out, fear of losing, and revenge trading after every setback. I wasn’t short of knowledge. I was short of the mindset to use it.
That loss sent me into the world of psychotherapy in 2001 — not to fix my trading, but to understand why a switched-on adult could watch himself make the same mistake over and over and feel powerless to stop it. That’s exactly the work I do with traders — not teaching strategy, but rewiring the response to stop the destructive loop in its tracks.
What I Help Traders With
I work with discretionary and systematic traders who want to:
Regulate emotions under pressure
Remove fear after losses
Stop impulsive and revenge trading
Rebuild confidence after drawdowns
Strengthen discipline and rule-following
Trade calmly, consistently, and objectively
Detach self-worth from P&L
This is performance mindset coaching, not strategy advice.
Why Trading Psychology Is Different
BWRT® works directly with the brain’s threat and decision systems, helping traders stay calm under volatility, respond rationally instead of emotionally, and break deeply ingrained habits fast. No reliving past losses. No endless analysis. Just clear, focused mindset work.
Trading activates the same neural systems as threat, reward, and survival.
That’s why:
Logic disappears under pressure
Discipline collapses when money is at risk
Old patterns return even after “knowing better”
You can’t fix this with willpower alone.
You have to retrain the response system — not fight it.
In 1983 a scientist called Benjamin Libet discovered that we react to information about half a second before we’re even consciously aware of it. That’s the gap BWRT works in — stopping the automatic reaction before it becomes a bad trade, rather than trying to out-think it after the fact.
How We Work Together
Most of my coaching relationships move through four stages. How far you go depends on what you need — many clients get what they came for in the first stage alone.
Stage 1 — Quick Wins
3–4 sessions
We start with what’s costing you the most right now — revenge trading, rule-breaking, fear of losing, hesitation. Most clients feel a shift within the first few sessions.
Stage 2 — Smashing Limits
6 sessions
We clear the limiting beliefs sitting underneath the habits — the ones installed long before you ever placed a trade.
Stage 3 — Eliminating Self-Sabotage
Stage 1: 5 sessions; Stage 2: 5–7 sessions
We resolve the internal conflicts that cause traders to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory — dissolving doubt and clearing the belief that success isn’t meant for you.
Stage 4 — Financial Confidence & Success
2–5 sessions
We resolve the psychological blocks around money itself — the unhelpful lessons about wealth that quietly cap your ability to make money.
Ongoing
Regular support to keep you on track and prevent new destructive patterns from forming without noticing. I call this protecting against Isolation Blindness.

✔ You want consistency, not hype
✔ You value psychological edge and discipline

This is not for you if you’re looking for signals, indicators, or trading systems.

Quick Wins Package
£480 — 4 sessions
Most clients start here, paid upfront as a single booking. It’s the fastest way to deal with what’s costing you the most right now, and the natural first step before deciding whether to go further. There’s no obligation to continue beyond it — many clients find that’s exactly what they needed.
Real Results
Nick, 37
Trading for 4 years with a solid, back-tested strategy and a 60% win rate — but not making money. As soon as he hit a certain profit level he’d increase his risk on trades that didn’t meet his own rules, and give it all back. Five sessions uncovered a pattern of self-sabotage rooted in not feeling worthy of the wealth he was chasing. Six months later: no further self-sabotage, and his profit goal exceeded.
James, 49
Profitable for 12 years, then out of nowhere developed a fear of placing trades — hesitating, entering late, exiting winners early just to bank a small profit. After three sessions, his mental resilience and confidence were back, along with the ability to place trades without hesitating.
Client, 31
Profitable, but capping every trade at £50 without knowing why — until it turned out the figure came straight from his day job’s daily rate, a “comfort blanket” limiting belief. Once resolved, he was able to increase his position sizing, and his profitability, accordingly.
Client, 30
Left his full-time job to trade as his sole income. Profitable, but dreaded the market open every single morning. Clearing the underlying belief that he didn’t deserve to earn above a certain level gave him the consistency — and the profitability — he’d been chasing.

Frequently Asked Questions
“Why on earth did I do that?” It’s the question almost every trader asks themselves after a bad trade — jumping in too early, holding a loser too long, revenge trading after a loss. Here’s what’s actually happening: the earlier, more primitive part of your brain works to alleviate a perceived threat before you’re even consciously aware of it, and it’s that part of the brain that controls the action you take. It’s only a split second later, as you’re reacting consciously afterwards, that you become consciously aware of the action you’ve already taken. That’s why knowing your rules intellectually isn’t enough — by the time conscious awareness catches up, the decision’s already been made. BWRT works directly with that automatic process, changing the destructive reaction into a positive one, so following your rules becomes the automatic response rather than something you have to consciously fight for in the moment.
How do you approach someone who understands their trading rules intellectually but keeps failing to follow them under pressure?
“Why on earth did I do that?” This is the question almost every trader asks themselves after a bad trade. The answer is that the earlier, more primitive part of your brain reacts to a perceived threat before you’re consciously aware of it — so the decision is already made before conscious thought catches up. BWRT works with that automatic process directly, so following your rules becomes the automatic response instead of something you have to consciously fight for.
What trading problems can this help with?
Revenge trading, FOMO, fear of pulling the trigger, breaking your own rules under pressure, overconfidence after a winning streak, and loss of risk discipline generally — the recurring thread is an automatic reaction overriding a plan you already know is right.
Can this help with overconfidence or increasing position size after a winning streak?
Yes. Overconfidence after a win is just as much an automatic pattern as fear is after a loss. The same approach applies — changing the automatic overconfidence response to a different, more measured response of your choosing.
Who is a good candidate for BWRT in trading, and who might not benefit as much?
Every new client starts with a Trading Psychology Review, which exists to determine whether someone is suitable for coaching — if there are red flags, I won’t take the client on. That said, no coaching programme in the world suits every trader; everyone is an individual. In my experience, BWRT has around a 95% success rate in changing automatic processes at a subconscious level, because it’s a completely natural process without the need to learn any coping strategies or techniques that require conscious thought.
How permanent are the changes, and what's the risk of relapse?
Once BWRT has been applied, the old destructive pattern simply no longer exists in the way it did before — it isn’t a willpower or habit fix, it’s a change to the automatic response itself, which is why relapse is extremely low.
How do you measure whether the sessions are actually improving my trading behaviour?
The change happens within the session itself. We then start the next session with a debrief, where you tell me what improvements you’ve noticed in your trading since the last one, before moving on to the next issue.
What experience do you have working with traders?
I got into trading psychology after being a trader myself in the late 90s, where I lost around £30k in today’s money — not because I lacked a strategy, but because I didn’t understand why I couldn’t follow my own rules. That’s what led me here. I’ve now been working with traders for over 25 years on trading psychology performance: revenge trading, FOMO, risk-taking, fear of losing, and more, with great success.
What are your qualifications?
I hold a Diploma with Honours in Clinical Hypnotherapy (2001, Essex Institute) and trained directly under Terence Watts, the creator of the BWRT methodology — only certified practitioners are permitted to deliver it. Alongside that, I bring 25+ years of working specifically with traders’ psychology.
How are sessions delivered, and what does a package cost?
Sessions are conducted online via video call (Doxy, WhatsApp, MS Teams, or FaceTime). The standard package is £480 for 4 sessions.
🌱 Final Thought
Trading success isn’t about being fearless.
It’s about being calm, consistent, and emotionally neutral — even when it matters most.
If your mindset is the missing piece, let’s explore it together.
